new professions (take from the screenshot there) says to me that they ARE playable. Or they wouldn't be professions, they'd be new enemies. Plus in the age-old gamespot(?) interview from September, they mentioned 2 new playable professions (though no word on what they are).
I'm quite sure that the expansion could go either way on buying. It may be a separate download which you have to buy the key for or you can buy from the shops (just like original guild wars) or it may be shop bought only, in case people new to the game try to download that client instead of the original, when they'd only purchased the original key. Either way, one thing we do know for sure, is you have to pay for it one way or another.

Not either but both. And the client will stay the same. I guess all you'll have to do to get access to chapter 2 content will be to add a new key to your account.

buy = pay money for something.
It doesnt mean you physicly have to walk into a local store to buy a box and pay cash for. Its just spelled buy to make sure its not a free upgrade/support. Of corse you can buy a key and download the extension.

I apologize if someone else said this already, but if the skill cap is increased, then they need to add more attribute points. Because if everyone's health increases and the amount of damage we deal remains the same, then this game will lose people fast.
And forget guild storage, how about increasing the size of storage for each account?

I'm curious as to how Anet will handle the new chapter.
How will they have explorable areas that are the same for new, Level 1characters as those who continue on from the first game at level 20?
New professions/characters won't have to play through Chapter 1 , or will they? Will Chap2 be soley level 20 content?

I thought it was new professions, not new races. It sounds a bit like WoW

as the game is today do we currently have a profession system? How can we have "new professions" if the game doesn't have "professions" to begin with?

The character classes (Elementalist, Mesmer, Monk, Necromancer, Ranger, Warrior) are also called professions in GW.

so profession and race are being used interchangeably....it still doesn't change the fact that "professions" do not exist in the game. If they add anything to the game it will be more "races". I don't foresee them adding "professions"

No, we really mean races. "Professions" is interchangeable with class. And yes it is called profession in the game. Go create a new character. It says CHOOSE A PROFESSION.
We are talking about them adding new professions and them adding new races. You are a very confused person and need to reread this whole thing.

16 v 16 hopefully means random and team arenas and not just GvG.
What GvG really needs is Random Unrated (no officer needed to start) and Observer Mode. No complex expansion set needed.
This will increase GvG participation even if your guild has only 4 people in it.
I don't have to sit in the guild for 30 minutes figuring out numbers, skillset, etc. I can finally bring that noob's Wa/Mo so he can figure out why W/Mo does not cut it for the most part.
Please!!
PLEASE!!
UNRATED RANDOM GvG!!!!

what is the difference between "profession" and "race"...as far as I can tell(regardless of what you want to call it...or even what GW calls it) we only have one and not the other.

LOL If you cant figure out the difference between "profession" and "Race" I think you need to get a dictionary! LOL
"Profession" is you job, ie Monk, Mesmer, Ele, Warr, Ranger, Necro
"Race" is who you are ie Human, Dwarf, Elf, Char, Dragon
Currently we have one RACE (Human), and 6 Professions (Monk. Ele, War, Mes, Nec, Rng)
I believe that in the interview posted here they stated one new RACE, and two new PROFESSIONS will be added with the expansion. I am sure someone will correct me if I am mistaken.

There is a huge difference, and yes right now we only have one and not the other, in the sense that when you create a new character, you only choose profession, as the race if fixed for everyone.
Read Talin Verderben's reply if you still don't understand the concept of race.

Why would you not add another race into the game it would make a few unique pvp opportunities
Whe already have faction agains faction America/Europe/Korea if whe would add a new race the competition in the factions would heaten up more and make the game more entertaining
but HTH are they gonna implent 16v16 o.0
And who are the new race something completely new or something whe have seen before (like the charr) ?
